Help
with s3 forms:
The s3 Sustainable Schools Self-evaluation tool can be found
here and is designed to help schools assess their sustainability
achievements. We can help you with the assessments and look at ways
for the school to improve; facilitate specified sessions to ensure
there is an integrated approach throughout the school; and offer
ideas to enhance your school whilst reducing your carbon footprint
and saving money.
Reduction
of energy and therefore energy bills, can be an easy process
within schools, if the will is there. There are some initial, simple
steps which can be achieved through class projects or school councils.
A nature garden or switching off lights and computers are good examples
of these. Further measures are possible with help from external
organisations. This might include an energy audit or installation
of renewable energy technology. We can direct you to the appropriate
organisations for your school’s requirements.
Preparation for Ofsted:
During inspections, Ofsted will now consider any sustainability
measures which schools have begun to implement. This includes teaching
content, school procurement practices and perceptible behavioural
change. SusSEd Bus can advise on good practice and prepare your
school for Ofsted visits and evaluations.
